Night changes the colours of the world, but it does not take away its vitality.
In “In the Heat of the Night”, two elephants turn towards one another beneath a yellow moon. Their orange, red and gold forms stand out against turquoise, blue and violet. The surrounding colours are cool; the animals seem to hold the warmth of the day within them.
This contrast is at the heart of my Optimistic Cubism. Recognisable forms open the door into the painting; colour and geometry invite the eye to stay. The elephants are monumental, but the space between them is intimate. Their meeting gives the composition its centre — not simply two animals in a landscape, but a moment of connection.
I want this painting to bring warmth into a room. Its night is colourful, alive and welcoming. Concern for nature does not require me to remove joy from the canvas.
Yet the pleasure of looking carries a quiet question: how much room are we willing to leave for lives other than our own?
On a canvas, I can give these elephants all the space they need. Beyond it, habitat cannot be created by colour alone. It needs land, water and a lasting commitment to care.
That distinction matters to the ARK Project. The painting evokes one part of the living world; the project directs my practical commitment towards protecting and restoring natural territories in the Southern Cone. The geography is different. The responsibility I feel is connected.
I am looking for a patron who values the painting in its own right and also shares that commitment. Not because joy conceals the seriousness of the task, but because joy gives us a reason to undertake it.
There is room for warmth in the night. There must also be room for other lives in our world.

• The Commitment: This work forms part of the ARK patronage pool supporting the planned protection and restoration of natural territories in the Southern Cone. Under the project protocol, 100% of acquisition proceeds is routed through the 30/40/30 allocation structure.
• Capital Allocation: 30% — reimbursement of documented studio costs, with no dividend; 40% — restricted ground CapEx; 30% — project operations. The closed 40% CapEx list covers cadastral land and topsoil, perimeter fencing, restoration machinery (including tractors), and hydrological biomes, subject to the Patron's contractual Right of Veto. Clothing, medical and community expenditure falls outside this restricted allocation.
• Governance Shield: The protocol provides for acquired land to remain on the balance sheet of the independent, non-commercial Foundation (Fundación), not with the artwork's buyer. The country, legal vehicle and first cadastral parcel must be named in the Art Loan documentation before any drawdown.
• Verification Path: Closed Verification is available equally to full-tier DIS patrons and signed 12-month Art Loan counterparties. Quarterly Field Files comprise georeferenced satellite perimeters, dated CapEx invoices and biome photographs. Site perimeters remain closed to the public.
