A familiar form can become unfamiliar without losing its beauty.
In “Aberration”, the human figure emerges through crimson, pink, mint green and violet. Curves meet sharp edges; the surrounding planes interrupt the body and then allow it to reappear. Flowers, cloud-like forms and angular frames share the same space. The eye moves between recognition and uncertainty.
This is not distortion for the sake of discomfort. In my Optimistic Cubism, a shift in perspective can be an invitation: to look again, to discover another relationship between things we thought we already understood. I want the painting to remain a pleasure to live with, while never being exhausted by a single glance.
The title offers a question I also carry beyond painting. What if the departure from the familiar is not the mistake? What if continuing as before is what needs to change?
That question connects this work to my commitment to the ARK Project — an artist-led conservation venture focused on protecting and restoring natural territories in the Southern Cone.
My decision to act does not depend on finding a patron. I am committing my own resources to this work. Personal funding sets one pace and one scale; a patron can help make a larger undertaking possible. I am not looking for someone to replace my commitment, but for someone whose resources and judgement can extend its reach.
The practical purpose is land, soil, water and the conditions in which life can recover. A painting is not a substitute for that work. It is an original work of art through which a patron can participate in funding it under defined terms.
“Aberration” belongs to the 555 Cycle, a fixed sequence of 555 numbered works, including existing paintings and works yet to be created. Patronage can help the conservation project grow; it does not enlarge the cycle.
As the project's record develops, its achievements and visibility may contribute to how collectors understand and value the associated paintings. That is a possibility, not a promised increase in price. Scarcity alone does not create demand, and an artwork’s future market value remains uncertain.
I am looking for a patron who sees value in both the painting and the work it can help set in motion. The commitment is already mine. The scale is what we can change together.

STRATEGIC STATUS & CONVERGENCE PROTOCOL (2026)
• The Commitment: ARK is an artist-led conservation venture intended to proceed with the artist’s own capital. Patronage is sought to expand its capacity and scale; this commitment does not remove execution, funding or ecological risks.
• Capital Allocation: Under the project protocol, 100% of qualifying acquisition proceeds follows the 30/40/30 structure: 30% — reimbursement of documented studio costs, with no dividend; 40% — restricted ground CapEx; 30% — project operations.
• Restricted CapEx: The closed 40% allocation covers cadastral land and topsoil, perimeter fencing, restoration machinery (including tractors), and hydrological biomes, subject to the Patron’s contractual Right of Veto. Clothing, medical and community expenditure falls outside this restricted allocation.
• Governance Shield: The protocol provides for acquired land to remain on the balance sheet of the independent, non-commercial Foundation (Fundación). The country, legal vehicle and first cadastral parcel must be named in the Art Loan documentation before any drawdown. Acquisition of a painting does not convey a land deed or an equity interest in the project.
• Verification Path: Closed Verification is available equally to full-tier DIS patrons and signed 12-month Art Loan counterparties. Quarterly Field Files comprise georeferenced satellite perimeters, dated CapEx invoices and biome photographs. Site perimeters remain closed to the public.
